About the program

With funding from the European Regional Development and Protection Programme for Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq (RDPP II), Mercy Corps launched the IJMAA+ programme in Lebanon, which will be implemented from March to December 2022.

The programme interventions will be implemented in five municipalities in the Bekaa area:
Al Mansoura, Qsarnaba, Rachayya, Saadnayel and Al Manara
The following results are expected to be achieved:

  • The targeted municipalities will have an increased capacity to adopt good governance approaches, such as transparency.
  • 75 youth will be engaged in empowerment, recreational, and peacebuilding activities. This activity will be implemented by our partner organization, Peace Labs.
  • Up to 5 CBOs in target communities will be supported to set strategic goals, identify opportunities, and design needs-based projects that serve their communities.
  • One identified community priority project will be supported for implementation per each municipality.

The programme is expected to indirectly benefit between 50,000 and 100,000 individuals.
