The “Services and Assistance For Enabling Recovery” (SAFER) program is an 18-month action where Mercy Corps provides cash assistance to 1,250 of Lebanon’s most affected households, who are not receiving help from other organizations. This assistance will help them with their basic needs. The program will target areas in Bekaa and Baalbek-El Hermel, using Lebanon Crisis Analytic Team (LCAT) to identify the most vulnerable households.

With support from European Union Humanitarian Aid, Mercy Corps launched the “Services and Assistance For Enabling Recovery” (SAFER) program, which is an 18-month action where Mercy Corps provides cash assistance. The program runs from September 2022 till February 2024, and aims to reduce the economic suffering and protection risks faced by the most vulnerable Lebanese populations households residing in the Bekaa area with:
- Our local partner will provide 350 households with financial management and literacy training to help them become self-sufficient.
- Connect these households with other organizations that can provide additional assistance, such as job training and social safety nets.
- Cash assistance to 1,250 of Lebanon’s most affected households, who are not receiving help from other organizations.
